COMMUNIQUE FROM THE NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COUNCIL ON THE COURT CASE SETTLEMENT APRIL 15, 2016

Mboho Ndito Ibibo USA, Inc., formerly known as Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio USA, Inc., also known as, MMI USA INC, under the leadership of Sylvanus Okon, is a non-profit organization of select indigenes of Ibibio tribe of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria residing in the United States of America, who solemnly and firmly resolve to live in peace, unity and harmony as members of Mboho Ndito Ibibio USA, Inc. for the promotion of unity, love, and progress among the entire Ibibio people.

Whereas, in 2012 Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio-Nigeria, under the leadership of Maurice Ekwo, sued Sylvanus Okon and other officers of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio USA, Inc.

Whereas, after four years of legal battle, with two dismissed cases in favor of Sylvanus Okon, et al, the case between plaintiffs, MBOHO MKPARAWA IBIBIO USA INC., et al, and defendants, Sylvanus Okon, et al, was finally put to rest on April 14, 2016 at the U.S. Southern Texas District Court, Houston, with Honorable Judge Alfred Bennett presiding. (Please see attached signed settlement document endorsed by Judge Bennett).

Whereas, after four days of bench trial and in lieu of passing judgment, the presiding judge decided to mediate a negotiated Settlement Agreement between the two parties.

Whereas, the parties agreed that this was the final settlement of their dispute and further agree not to disparage one another henceforth.

Whereas, we, the original incorporators of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio USA, INC., under the leadership of Sylvanus Okon, have agreed to change the name of our organization and other structures, in order to (i) proactively and independently defend Ibibio people without going through a third party, (ii) avoid confusion and maintain peace in the Ibibio Community,
(iii) Promote the betterment of Ibibio community worldwide, (iv) concentrate our resources to help Ibibio youths in awarding scholarships and training, etc. All our members, chapters and officers WILL continue to work together amicably to obtain and sustain the mission, objectives, projects, and membership programs, as specified in our constitution.

Now therefore, be it resolved that, the new name of our organization is MBOHO NDITO IBIBIO USA, INC., and henceforth all communications and references should identify us with this name, as a non-profit organization, fully registered and autonomous entity in the United States of America.
