The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said “the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State has by words and conducts, effortlessly earned for her the ignominious award of being the repository of people who do not only shamelessly tell lies, but seek to use ambush, pressure, force, ethnic incitement and or self pity to reinforce their lies. What is more worrisome is the speed and illogical premise with which the political coven called APC validates the lie and coordinates an attack line against the army of rational people who counsel against their manifest falsehood.”
A statement signed by the Akwa Ibom State Publicity Secretary of PDP, Comrade Ini Ememobong, said “A retrospective search will reveal a long thread of transparent lies disingenuously sewn and shamelessly hawked by this political amalgam, ranging from the mysterious bullet in Obong Nsima Ekere’s bedroom, the denial of the leaked audio conversation between the APC Governorship candidate and a militant General, to the conscious misrepresentation of an armed robbery attack on a former Governor’s aide, as a PDP sponsored assassination attempt among many other tissues of transparent lies.”
“By the judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, delivered today by Justice Fatun Riman, the court has brought to an end the different tissues of lies cobbled and presented as facts by the sacked state legislators who are now members of the APC. The legislators whose seats were declared vacant due to their unjustified defection from the PDP before the expiration of their tenure, had earlier upon their defection, ran to court to prevent their seats from being declared vacant(a cowardly attitude definitive of members of the APC where they take action but shy away from the attendant consequence). All five cases instituted by these sacked lawmakers were premised on several falsehoods ranging from the claim that the coalition entered into by the PDP with other parties was a merger, to the fact that the sacked lawmakers, like their master, were summarily expelled from the party.”
“Like a pack of cards placed on a mountain, all the lies were blown away by the wind of truth presented before the court by the legal team of Speaker Onofiok Luke led by Ekemini Udim Esq and the Peoples Democratic Party led by Goddy Umoh. One by one, the court resolved all the issues in the substantive suits, against the lawmakers and held that their seats were vacant by reason of their defection from the PDP without lawful justification.”
“It can be recalled that these same lawmakers, with the active backing of their Warsaw general and party, created a house of comedy, wherein they claimed to have impeached the legitimate Speaker of the House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke and declared one Nse Ntuen as the speaker. This illegality which was premised on distasteful lies was vehemently supported by the State Chairman of the APC, who validated the said impeachment and recognized the Speaker of the House of Comedy as the new Speaker of the House of Assembly. Today, like it is with all falsehood, a Daniel has come to Judgment and the truth has been revealed. If there is any honour left in the APC and her leaders, their reaction should be to unreservedly apologize to Akwa Ibom people and the entire world for the needless show of shame that they brazenly brought upon us and the unnecessary strain cum pressure on the polity. But by experience and observation, no reasonable person is expectant of such courtesy from the band of unprincipled fellows who currently lead the broom wielding movement.”
“Instead of ensuring the proper administration of his party, which is his primary duty, Mr Okopido has rather preferred to act as the Publicity Secretary of his Party and to display his hero-worship disposition, by glaringly choosing the deification of man and the ‘manification’ of God. Our party and the Government we have produced believe that man will remain man and God will take His rightful place as God; as captured in our mantra: ‘Only God!’”
“May we therefore intimate Mr. Okopido and his co-travellers that no amount of media, spiritual and even, physical attack will deter anybody from the exercise of their duties and the unending quest for truth. In the entire defense put out by Mr. Okopido and his band of wailers, none has answered the pertinent question of fact which is, was Chief Godswill Akpabio expelled from the PDP? No amount of threats will erase this question on the minds of right thinking persons. Today the judgment of the court has answered the question of law, which is: assuming but not conceding that Sen. Godswill Akpabio was expelled, was that a legal justification to defect (what he calls movement)?”
“The State Chairman of the APC has complained about the tone of the releases from our party in addressing matters concerning them. In order to offer some succour to them, May we now align with the words of the scriptures in John 8:43-45(NIV), ‘Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 …not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!’”
“Our statements against the APC and her leaders have been to condemn habitual lying and such other recurrent misnomers which they have now internalized , but the Bible captured these aptly that, telling such lies is the NATIVE LANGUAGE of habitual liars. Or should we adopt the definition of their hero as offered by Chief Ita Awak, former State Publicity Secretary of the APC on January 7, 2018 when he said ‘Knowing the serial and congenital liar called Godswill Obot Akpabio the way I do, methinks there is abroad and well choreographed campaign…’”
“May we now very respectfully reiterate that at no time did the PDP expel the outgoing Senator for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Chief Godswill Akpabio and his claim of expulsion is a transparent lie, which is both unfortunate and condemnable? No amount of doublespeak, proxy media war or self pity can obliterate this obvious truth,” the statement concluded.
