AKSG COMMENCES PAYMENT OF COMPENSATION ON IKOT OKU IKONO-ETINAN ROAD

EPHRAIM_INYANGThe Akwa Ibom State Government has commenced the payment of compensation to persons whose properties are affected by the Ikot Oku Ikono -Etinan road project.

The payment process which began on Tuesday, April 5 , 2016 at the Asan Ibibio, Ikot Oku Ikono, Uyo covered buildings, economic trees, crops, etc and other valuables within the area marked for construction.

Supervising the payment process, the Commissioner for Works, Akwa Ibom State, Mr Ephraim Inyang-eyen thanked the people of the area for their orderly conduct throughout the process.

Inyang-eyen specially commended the people of Uyo and Etinan Local Government Areas for not putting up illegal structures to further delay the take off of the project.

The works commissioner assured the general public of government’s commitment to improving and consolidating infrastructure development in the state.

An indigene of the area, Akpan Enoch expressed satisfaction at government’s intention to construct a dual carriage way with a flyover at Ikot Oku Ikono junction.

The community leader thanked the Governor of the state, Mr Udom Emmanuel for the passion he has shown in developing the state in the face of economic challenges.

He assured of the community’s support and cooperation with the contractors, Julius Berger when construction commences.
