A’IBOM SPEAKER TASKS COMMISSIONERS, PDP EXCO ON HARD WORK

Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has congratulated newly inaugurated Commissioners, Special Advisers and State Officers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a charge on them to work harder and ensure the administration fulfils its mandate.

According to a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Mr. Darlington Udobong, on Monday, the Speaker reminded the new appointees that their loyalty and allegiance are to Governor Udom Emmanuel and the people of the state, urging them to dedicate themselves to the progress of Akwa Ibom.

While assuring that the Seventh Assembly will continue to collaborate and synergize with the Executive to bring the desired dividends of democracy to the people, the Speaker hinted that Akwa Ibom is on the fast lane of development and thus requires fresh ideas and innovation to keep its infrastructure abreast with the increasing population.

He further urged the new appointees and the party men to join hands with the State Governor to move the state forward, saying “Akwa Ibom, a state with the most promising investment potential, has all it takes to compete globally in all sectors.”

Rt. Hon. Bassey also urged the new team to develop ingenious ways of driving the state’s growth, specifically in the area of generating stable revenues and resources, maintain that “the future of any modern state to provide infrastructure and effectively provide for its people lies in its ability to generate steady resources.”

The Speaker assured the new team that the various Bills that have been passed by the Seventh Assembly will have positive impacts on the people.
