The Speaker of the Akwa lbom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, on Saturday, commended the outcome of the Local Government Congress of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Uruan.
The Speaker appreciated his constituents for their cooperation and assured that the outcome of the Congress was based on the census agreement of the people.
“I am delighted over the report of the peaceful and well-coordinated election conducted during the Chapter Congress. The outcome of our franchise shows our unparalleled support for our great party.”
“The leadership of the party in the State has continually emphasised on zoning and inconclusiveness. The people of Uruan voted based on this instruction. l want to assure you all that the outcome of the Local Government Congress is inline with the party’s directive.”
Meanwhile, the Returning Officer or the Congress, Obong Emmanuel Tinus, announced
Hon.Sebastian Edet Nkanga as the Chapter Chairman of the party in Uruan alongside other executive members.
Speaking on behalf of the New executives, the Chapter Chairman appreciated all those who pledged their unalloyed support to the party during the Congress and promised to yield to their yearnings in the discharge of his responsibility.
However, the officials from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) monitored and supervised the electoral processes.
