NEW DAKKADA AMBASSADORS EMERGE IN ABAK FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

dakkada (2)The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Aniekan Umanah and wife, Maureen; Chairman of Abak, Barrister Emmanuel Udosen; senior government officials, distinguished entrepreneurs and outstanding indigenes of Abak Federal Constituency have formally joined the ranks of latest Dakkada Ambassadors in the State.
They were decorated at the Independent Hall Abak, along with 75 youths drawn from the three local government areas in the federal constituency, Abak, Etim Ekpo and Ika.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Marketing and Brand Management, Mr. Samuel Edoho, who presented the certificate of recognition to the new ambassadors, commended them for their outstanding services to humanity which accorded them the recognition.
Mr. Edoho who took them through the philosophy of Dakkada said with hard work, faith in God and creativity, the new ambassadors will rise and be counted as great people, and charged them to be good ambassadors.
Speaking at the occasion, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, said Akwa Ibom State people are endowed with hard work, kindness, honesty, neatness and humility.
He said the people of the state have failed to utilise these qualities to their advantage, maintaining that people from other parts of the country have exploited them of our riches.
According to him, “We had no reason to be house helps, gatemen, cooks, etc if we had believed in ourselves. “Always think of yourself as the best and don’t assume others are better than you. Work hard and have faith in God and you will come out the best.”
On his part, the Commissioner of Information, Mr. Aniekan Umanah, said the decision to be great is a personal decision, that any man with a good head on his shoulder can never be a pauper.
“Your growth is limited to your thinking. If you invest in your vision and dreams rather than frivolities, you will always make it in life.”
Also speaking, a book author who refers to himself as Houseboy Emeritus, Paul Iwok, said he believed every Akwa Ibom child is supernaturally and naturally wired for greatness, adding that this greatness is crying to be explored.
He recounted how he served as a houseboy for eight years in Lagos, saying that his desire to acquire education and actualise his dream has led to his success story.
Paul Iwok further said that his status has risen as he now travels to any part of the world at his pleasure and charged the youths to desist from a life of dependency, but to pursue their dreams instead of seeking momentary pleasure.
