… We’re proud of you, go replicate your trademark of excellence in the Senate – Etim Ekpo TRC tells Enoidem
Immediate Past PDP National Legal Adviser and National Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement, MPM, Hon Barr Emmanuel Enoidem, on Wednesday consulted the Etim Ekpo Traditional Rulers Council to officially notify the Royal Fathers of his intention to contest the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District seat come 2023.
Barr Enoidem who was accompanied by the Member representing Etim Ekpo Ika State Constituency, Hon Mfon Idung and the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Imoh Moffat, among others said, he was proud of the Etim Ekpo Traditional Institution under the leadership of His Royal Majesty, Edidem Prof Amanam A. Udo, Paramount Ruler of Etim Ekpo.
He declared that he was proud that the Etim Ekpo Traditional Rulers Council is led by a man who is highly revered and educated, who has deployed his education, exposure and wealth of experience towards administering and repositioning the traditional Institution for the good of the people and specially thanked the Paramount Ruler for restoring the dignity of the Royal Stool.
He thanked the Clan Heads and all Village Heads for their support which has led to the prevailing peace, unity and development in the area and notified them of his intention to contest the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District election come 2023.
Barr Enoidem observed that though the Royal Fathers are not partisan, their blessings and prayers cannot be taken for granted. He told the gathering that of all the federal constituencies in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, only Abak federal constituency have never produced a Senator but that the constituency parades a litany of eminently qualified Sons to contest, of which he is one of them.
“I will represent you well. I will make you proud”, he assured.
He admonished the Royal Fathers to always advise their subjects in their respective domain against clannish sentiments but at all time promote the overall unity of Etim Ekpo and avoid issues that can cause division in the local government.
Barr Enoidem called on the Royal Fathers to continue to give their unalloyed support and solidarity to the Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration, assuring them that at the appropriate time, he will notify them of whoever the Governor chooses to be his successor and urged them to get ready to support the Governor’s Completion Agenda.
Responding, the Paramount Ruler of Etim Ekpo and Vice President, Afe Akuku Annnag, His Royal Majesty, Edidem Prof Amanam A. Udo, thanked God for the life of Barr Enoidem whom he described as an illustrious son of Etim Ekpo who has never disappointed and will not disappoint his people.
The Royal Father noted with delight that Barr Enoidem is a man who is knowledgeable about Traditional Rulers Council matters and respects the traditional Institution, and thanked the Chairman of Maintain Peace Movement, MPM, for his care to the Royal Fathers all through the past years.
He stated that though members of the Traditional Rulers Council are not politicians but custodians of the customs and traditions of the land, they will never relent to pray for God’s blessings on Enoidem’s 2023 aspirations and charged the Clan Heads and Village Heads to be steadfast in their support for Enoidem.
The Royal Father described Barr Enoidem as a visionary, focused and consistent politician who do not have any dependency syndrome that will impede his legislative efficiency when elected.

Etim Ekpo people are proud of you and your numerous achievements. You are a shinning star that cannot be overshadowed and the benefit of your representation will impact and uplift the whole Senatorial District and not just Etim Ekpo”, he declared.
Delivering the Vote of Thanks, the Village Head of Oruk Atta Ikot Isemin, Chief Dr Sychell Okpongette, noted with delight that a good servant is a good leader, recalling that Barr Emmanuel has been a faithful and loyal political servant for decades and urged him to replicate his trademark of excellence in the Senate come 2023. He assured him of the continuous support, prayers and solidarity of the Etim Ekpo Traditional Rulers Council.
