2019: UDOM’S DECLARATION, SIGN OF GREATER THINGS FOR AKWA IBOM – UKPONG-UDO

Ikot Akpa Edet village in Ndiya Clan, Ikono Local Government Area came alive on Wednesday when Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, a leading aspirant for the Ikono/INI Federal House seat, and supporters converged for the all-important Ward meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take a crucial decision.
Obong Ukpong-Udo urged the people of the area to support the leadership PDP and Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Speaking with journalists in his country home on the necessity of the converge, Obong Ukpong-udo, the political leader of Ikono Local Government Area, said that the governor has done well in his first term which necessitated the support from the Federal Constituency for him to continue for another term.
Obong Ukpong-Udo stressed that the people of Ikono/INI Federal Constituency were proud of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s brilliant performance and would want him to continue in office for another term in office.
He said, “The people of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas are proud of Governor Udom Emmanuel to present himself for another four years of service as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State. Today’s meeting is a confirmation of our support for him.”
Obong Ukpong-Udo expressed confidence that the second term of Governor Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom would bring further development in the state and stated that the people of Ikono/INI Federal Constituency will support him when he eventually declare for second term on Friday.
“As Governor Udom Emmanuel declares today, we will continue to stand and support him. The overwhelming endorsement of the Governor by the people of Uyo, Ikot Ekpene and Eket Senatorial District clearly show that Governor Udom Emmanuel has transformed the entire state within the space of less than three years hence the call for continuity. We will continue to support the programmes and activities of the Udom Emmanuel-led administration.”
He maintained that the PDP success story in Akwa Ibom State wouldn’t have been possible without the leadership quality of Deacon Udom Emmanuel who has set pace for the development of the state through politics of inclusion.
“We cannot but come up, like we have always did, to tell our people that we thank them for voting Deacon Udom Emmanuel in 2015 and asking them to give unanimous support again for Deacon Udom Emmanuel for his prudent service and brilliant performance this time around. Akwa Ibom is now comparable to Nigeria’s mega cities courtesy Governor Udom Emmanuel’s unmatched feats but four years is not enough for him to exhaust all the good works he had in mind for the State,” he stressed.
Obong Ukpong-Udo added that “Governor Udom Emmanuel is a semblance of what you have in onions, as long as you remove a layer you get something new, so he deserves another term,” appealing to all eligible electorates to value the worth of their Permanent Voter’s card and vote the right choice, Udom Emmanuel.
According to him, “I appeal to the electorates that the most valuable thing they have today is the PVC they should not sell it, they should ensure they vote the right candidate, who is Deacon Udom Emmanuel, so that he can continue to advance developments in Akwa Ibom.”
He said Akwa Ibom under Udom Emmanuel has witnessed a monumental achievement that ultimately qualifies him for another term.
Obong Ukpong-Udo further advised that while the party in the Federal Constituency is taking a crucial decision in furtherance of progress and development of Akwa Ibom, it must ensure that those who are aggrieved and did not show up for the Ward meeting be carried along.
