2019: UDOM CHARGES A’IBOM YOUTHS ON UNITY, SELFLESS SERVICE

Governor Udom Emmanuel has charged youths of Akwa Ibom remain united and to see the bond of unity as the only key to achieving any height in their chosen endeavours.

Represented by his honorary Senior Special Adviser on Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, Governor Emmanuel, who made the charge during the 31st Edition of Akwa Ibom Youth Prays at The Apostolic Church, Akpambiet, Esit Eket, said “All of you seated here today are stakeholders in the Akwa Ibom Project and by that; it means there is a huge responsibility on you as youths of Akwa Ibom. To live up to this responsibility, you must shun all negative and social vices. You must say NO to attitudes that divides and destroys. You must embrace and encourage development. You must be patriotic all round.”

Drawing inference from the Book of Ecclesiastes Chapter 12 and Verse one, Governor Emmanuel, who also took the first Bible reading from the Book of Isaiah Cheaper 53, Verses one to three, commended the youths for their peaceful conducts, which according to him, “has made the state the safest and a destination of choice in the country.”

“That we now have more youths in positions of authority at both the state and local government levels are testaments to the fact that this administration is the most youth-friendly,” he added.

While thanking the church for their continuous support and prayers, Governor Emmanuel urged the youths, and the church, to take advantage of ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise and enroll their family.

In his goodwill message, the member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno, Dr Usoro Akpanusoh, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the choice of Esit Eket for the February edition of Akwa Ibom Youth Prays, adding that the people of his constituency will ensure his return to the Hilltop Mansion in 2019.

Also speaking, the political leader of Esit Eket, Elder Benji Udobia, admonished youths of the state to see themselves as the driving force for development and progress.

While appealing to youths of the state to always toe the path of development, peace and unity, Elder Udobi assured the Governor of the continuous support of the people of Esit Eket.

In his remarks, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Matters, Comrade Aniefiok Iwaudofia, said the peace and unity in the State were as a result of the fervent prayers of the youths.

Comrade Iwaudofia, who also gave a special seed on behalf of youths in the three Senatorial Districts, appealed to the youths to continue in their commitment and support to the Udom Emmanuel’s administration.

In his homily, themed “Lunch into the Deep” and taken from there Book of Luke Chapter Five, Verses one to six, the Area Superintendent, Apostle Akpekong Edo, charged the congregation, particularly the youth, to always put their hope in God.

He thanked the Governor for “changing the method by showing the youths the pathway to God” through the Akwa Ibom Youth Prays.

Also speaking, the Chairman of Esit Eket, Mr. Iniobong Robson; State PDP Youth Leader, Mr. Enobong Harry, in their separate remarks, lauded the Governor for his strides in the local government, maintaining that assembly was to empower him in wisdom and strength.

Apostle Edo urged the youths to keep to the good path shown them by the Governor.

Michael Isang; Special Assistants to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Branding and Media, Kingsley Mfon, Ime Uwah and Essien Ndueso; State PDP Youth Leader, Enobong Harry; Transition Committee Secretary of Ibeno Local Government, Hon. Ekong Ukot; Ibeno Chapter Chairman of PDP, Hon. Emma Ibok; a chieftain of the APC, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia Jnr; member of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) among others.

A special prayer session was made for Governor Udom Emmanuel and the Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Council
