In appreciation to the high level of inclusiveness exuded by the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, has said the party will prevail at all levels in 2019.
Dr Ekuwem, who witnessed the presentation of seven brand new vehicles to Zonal and State Executive members of the party during an unscheduled visit to the State Secretariat on Friday, said he was very delighted with “the goodwill and good news that is happening in the party.”
He charged executive members of the party, particularly the beneficiaries of “the party’s goodness” to continue in the bond of peace, unity and inclusiveness that has made the State Chapter the envy of others in the country.
Speaking, the State Chairman of PDP, Obong Paul Ekpo, said the gesture was to assist and encourage the executive members of the party carry out their respective duties optimally.
He thanked the SSG for stopping over at the party Secretariat despite his tight schedule, saying “the visit was timely and has shown that you are a true party man.”
Obong Ekpo described Dr Ekuwem as a square peg in a square hole and as a man whose appointment as SSG has brought stability to the party and Akwa Ibom.
The State Chairman explained to members that the gesture, which was on its second phase, will continue until it reaches everybody.
Those that benefitted from the second phase included the South-South Zonal Publicity Secretary, Bishop Etim Ante (Hilux); Uyo Senatorial District Vice Chairman, Mr. Okon Nsentip (Corolla); State Financial Secretary, Mrs. Joyce Udoh (Corolla); State Treasurer, Barrister Akpadiaha Ebitu (Ford Explorer); State Organizing Secretary, Mr. Saturday Akpan (Corolla); State Woman Leader, Mrs. Mmem Akpabio (Corolla), and State Youth Leader, Mr. Enobong Harry (Corolla).
