2019: PDP, IBOM PATRIOTS ENERGIZED TO ELECTION WINNING

In assuring members of Ibom Patriots, Akwa Ibom foremost socio-political organization, of the party’s resolve to partner the group, State Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Obong Paul Ekpo, said the party was energized to election winning in 2019 and beyond.

Obong Ekpo made this known on Monday when the leadership of the organization visited the PDP State Secretariat to show solidarity, commitment and readiness to work and ensure the party’s all-round success in the forthcoming elections.

The Akwa Ibom PDP Chairman commended the leadership of the organization for the honour done the party and expressed happiness over the level of political awareness in the state, adding “this partnership has further confirmed that PDP will win all the way in 2019.”

Speaking further, Obong Ekpo said “I am so happy about the level of political awareness among the elites and even the non-elites with the support by the men and women of God. This unprecedented awareness and overwhelming support from professionals, entrepreneurs and politicians are testaments to the fact that PDP will win convincingly all seats in the forthcoming general election and Nigeria will return to the path of true democracy, good governance because as a party we have said that we will abide by the zoning and rotation of offices.”

“I am so proud and fulfilled as the State Chairman of PDP because of the caliber of people that have been coming to pledge solidarity and commitment to work in partnership with the party. These are great men and women of great repute. I want to join you all to say that this 2019 deal is a sure success and a done deal. This is what the party expects from all mobilization arm of the party, synergies towards victory in 2019,” he maintained.

In his remarks, Chancellor of the organization, Obong Bassey Inuaeyen, gave thanks to God for the opportunity to identify with the winning party, stressing that it has been a divine design and plan that they meet with the party.
He applauded the Obong Paul Ekpo-led State PDP Executive for letting the door of the party Secretariat open for them, saying “such action has further affirmed that PDP remains the party for all.”

The Chancellor told the party “Our organization is a socio-political organization that is made up of PDP members that are intellectuals, professionals, politicians etc. It was formed for both short term and medium term goals. In short term, members of this organization are poised to complement the effort of thousands of other party supporters across the state in ensuring that the reelection bid of Governor Udom Emmanuel comes to fruition in 2019, while our medium term goal is to ensure that beyond 2019, the flag of defense and protection of the mandate is kept flying beyond 2023.”

“Mr. Chairman, you have done very well as the manager of the party affairs and indeed we are so proud of our party and our leader who has demonstrated rare leadership approach in the Akwa Ibom Project by recording a remarkable feat in his industrialization drive, infrastructural renaissance and empowerment agenda. So, we are here to pledge our unalloyed loyalty to the winning party likewise inform you that we are ready to partner with the party in order to ensure that victory for 2019 is secured holistically for PDP and also employ you to continue with the tenets of internal democracy for rancour-free and smooth electioneering process.”

Obong Inuaeyen appealed to the party for support to members of the organization who may indicate interest in the forthcoming elections and also suggested that a level playing ground be allowed to enable most popular candidates thrown up.

The event, which was attended by the members of the State Executive Council of the Party, featured exchange mementoes as symbol of loyalty and partnership.
