2019: OVER 50,000 TRADERS TO STORM A’IBOM GOVERNMENT HOUSE IN SOLIDARITY TO UDOM

As preparation for the forthcoming general elections gears up, pioneer Special Assistant to the Governor on Trade and Market Matters, Akparawa Idorenyin Raphael, has disclosed that over 50,000 traders across Akwa Ibom State will on Saturday storm Government House, Uyo, in Solidarity to the Governor Udom Emmanuel, who is also the state’s Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for 2019.

Briefing newsmen in Uyo, Akparawa Raphael said the move came on the heels of the assessments done by traders in the state on the superlative performance of the Governor.

According to the Special Assistant, “Having benefited immensely from Governor Emmanuel’s benevolence which includes Interest-Free Loans, Thursday’s Free Ticket Days, Newly constructed Ultra-Modern Markets, Vehicles to ease movement, the traders unanimously agreed to embark on a solidarity match in support of the reelection bid of Governor Udom Emmanuel. The solidarity match to Akwa Ibom Government House is to demonstrate the trader’s resolve and affirmation to their earlier position of unflinchingly support the Governor’s reelection bid.”

“Recall that over 50,000 Traders thronged the Etaha Itam Market on the 1st day of March 2017 to officially endorse Governor Udom Emmanuel for a second term. This was done based on the traders’ satisfaction of the Governor’s serling performance across the 31 local governmentvareas of the state in less than three years,” he said.

Akparawa Raphael hinted that the solidarity match is billed to start from the Ibom Plaza by 9am down to the Government House.

He also said the event will at feature solidarity dance, display of the various products by the beneficiaries of the last phase of Interest-Free Loans and the official flag off of another phase of the Interest-Free Loan by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

He used the medium to invite all traders, members of cooperative societies, lovers of good thing, supporters and friends of the traders to turn up en masse for the solidarity match as it promises to be the mother of all solidarity match for the Governor.
