2019: OBONG EMMANUEL UKPONG-UDO REITERATES ON MANIFESTO, APPEALS FOR UNITY

Mkpoikana-Abasi 2019, a campaign organization projecting the aspiration of Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo for Ikono/INI Federal Constituency, has reiterated on its political manifesto for the 2019 general elections.

The campaign organization, through its manifesto, dated 9th October 2018, revealed that Obong Ukpong-Udo will be running for the Ikono/INI federal seat on the platform of of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to Mkpoikana-Abasi 2019, Obong Ukpong-Udo, when elected to represent the people of Ikono and INI Local Government Areas, will focus on Robust Representation, Women and Youths reorientation/empowerment, Jobs and Wealth creation, Rural and Infrastructural Development, Social Welfare, Human Capital Development and Students Support Scheme.
Below are details of the cardinal agenda of the campaign organization:

ROBUST REPRESENTATION

Regular town hall meetings to help achieve collective representation and accountability whilst ensuring leadership and representation is responsive enough to deliver dividends to constituents.

Maintenance of a functional constituency office to provide a sense of belonging to constituents.

Sponsorship of people – oriented bills such that will promote human resource development creating a platform for us to compete favourably in the federal civil service etc.

To ensure the collective interest of the constituency is fully protected and represented within the 4years interval.

WOMEN AND YOUTHS REORIENTATION AND EMPOWERMENT

Creation of platform to ensure the empowerment and inclusion of women and youths, the less privileged, indigent persons and the disabled.

Institution of attitudinal reform programmes that will engender positive change among women and youths.

JOBS AND WEALTH CREATION

Harnessing the inert natural and economic potentials of Ikono/Ini to create wealth for the people.

Support for viable business ideas that could open up employment opportunities for others.

RURAL AND INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

To attract proper electrification projects to needy communities.

Opening up of the hinterlands with good road network to ensure that within 4years, Ikono/Ini becomes a positive reference point.

Provision of water projects at every community in the constituency courtesy of pragmatic representation.

Rehabilitation of schools, markets and other dilapidated basic infrastructure.

SOCIAL WELFARE

We shall together ensure every zone is privileged to have a proper and well equiped health service centres.

Improvement of health care delivery in existing primary health care centres through proper rehabilitation.

HUMAN CAPITAL DEVELOPMENT

To Identify the common needs of constituents and collectively proffer solutions to same.

Create a platform and network for skill acquisition.

Create a network to impact knowledge and build leadership capacity in Ikono/Ini people.

STUDENTS SUPPORT SCHEME

Provision of educational support for Ikono/Ini students through bursary and grants without overlooking any government openings for international study programmes of any kind.
