2019: INI PDP CANVASSES SUPPORT FOR UDOM, OKAYS EMMANUEL UKPONG-UDO

Chapter Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in INI Local Government Area, Mr. Emmanuel Umah, has reassured Governor Udom Emmanuel of the overwhelming support of the party and the people of the area.
Mr. Umah, who said the State Governor was the only agenda of the people of the area for 2019, urged aspirants to various political offices to play by the rule for peace, justice and fairness to thrive.
He gave the remarks on Wednesday in Odoro Ikpe, INI Local Government Area, when Obong Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo, a leading aspirant to the Ikono/INI Federal House of Representatives’ seat, led stakeholders and members of his campaign team, Mkpo-Ikana Abasi Campaign Organization, consulted the party to officially make known his aspiration for 2019.

The PDP Chapter Chairman thanked Obong Ukpong-Udo and his team for the honour done the party and assured that the party and the people of the area would reciprocate the gesture by standing by the aspirant for equity and justice.
Speaking, the erstwhile Chief Whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Chief Ukata Akpan, has commended the people of INI Local Government Area for keeping to the path of peace, justice and equity regarding the race to the Ikono/INI Federal House of Representatives’ seat.
Chief Ukata, who described Obong Ukpong-Udo as one that is most qualified to represent the area, said though life has designed everyone’s destiny, his choice of Obong Ukpong-Udo as the next national assemblyman was divine, adding that “Obong Ukpong-Udo has privately displayed humanity through empowerment of the people.”
The former Chief Whip of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly also likened his relationship with Obong Ukpong-Udo to that of “light calling unto light.”
“I have looked through Emmanuel Ukpong-Udo’s pedigree, antecedence, track record and contribution to the growth and progress of the party in Ikono, INI and Akwa Ibom State and I can say he is most qualified to represent the good people of Ikono/INI in the National Assembly. His humane, philanthropic and patriotic dispositions towards humanity are testaments to this fact,” he said.

Addressing the party faithful and the people of INI Local Government Area, Obong Ukpong-Udo said “my aspiration and ambition is borne out of the call to service by my people, the people this constituency. And having played a pivotal role in the fulfilment of the aspirations of many leaders at different levels, i feel the time has come for me to step into the saddle of leadership and lead the people aright.”
Ukpong-Udo noted that his “desire to represent the people at the lower Chambers of the National Assembly is guided by the law of posterity,” adding that he was in the race to complete the second term mandate given to Ikono Local Government Area.
He also promised the INI Local Chapter of PDP a new Secretariat, employment opportunities when elected as the man that will champion the affairs of the people at the House of Representatives.
Other stakeholders who spoke, including the campaign Director General, Barrister Inyangidim, were Engr Edet Umotong, Hon Inyangidim, Mr David Akpantuk, Kelly Okon, Sgt David Akpan, Inem Inyangette, Peter Inuaeyen, Emmanuel Etukudo among others.
