2019: EMMANUEL JACOB LAUNCHES ‘UDOM-SUPPORT’ CAMPAIGN

It was pomp and pageantry in Ikot Abia, Mkpat Enin Local Government at the weekend when Mr. Emmanuel Akpan Jacob, a philanthropist, flagged off Door-to-Door Mobilization, sensitization Campaign and Empowerment Scheme for the people of Ukpum Minya.

The event, which was done in support of the reelection bid of Governor Udom Emmanuel, was graced by a large turnout of the indigenes of the area.

Addressing the people, Mr. Jacob, who took time to reel out feats recorded by Gov Udom Emmanuel’s administration, for the people of the area, expressed delight to the people for the massive turnout, saying their response to the event was a “testament to the fact that you appreciate the good work of the Governor and that you are ready to join me in giving Governor Udom Emmanuel the necessary support for the success of his reelection in 2019.”

According to Mr. Jacob, the feats recorded by the Udom Emmanul’s administration are in the areas of road infrastructure, foreign direct investments, human capital development, rural electrification, among others.

In in words: “I am so delighted for the honour done me and for joining me to spread the gospel of good governance by Governor Udom Emmanuel across the length and breadth of the area. So, to have all of you turn out here today in support of Governor Udom Emmanuel’s reelection is enough evidence that our people are intact for the Governor and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). I know that this action of yours is not an exercise in futility but an affirmation of your commitment to the success story of Governor Udom Emmanuel.”

“As a Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has provided road network, power substation, transformers, youth empowerment, coconut plantation, coconut refinery, renovation renovation of classroom blocks, political appointments to mkpat Enin people, among others. So, I feel it is pertinent that I support him in my little capacity so that the dividends of democracy might trickle down to the grassroots. This will enable the Governor continue with his good work,” he explained.

In their separate goodwill messages, Professor Eno Ibanga, Mr Anietie Sunday, Sir Ben Udoma, Eno Willaims, Obong Udosam Umoatan amongst others, described Mr. Jacobs as one of the pillars of the area that has contributed immensely to the development of Mkpat Enin.

They expressed gratitude to Governor Udom Emmanuel for making Mkpat Enin one of the greatest beneficiaries of his administration’s dividends of democracy.

The people also resolved to support the campaign, which, according to them, will enable them take the gospel of good governance to all indigenes, mobilize more support at the grassroots for the reelection of the Governor as well as sensitize them on the need to get their voters card.

Financial supports were given to market women of the area to aid their trade and educational support to students during the event.
