2019: APC CHIEFTAIN, PRINCE EMMANUEL SAM, DUMPS PARTY
Popular lobbyist, propagandist and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Prince Emmanuel Sam, has announced his withdrawal from the party and active politics.
Prince Sam, who is the Chief Executive Officer of the The Guide Newspaper, made this known in Uyo on Thursday through a statement he personally signed.
According to him, “In view of recent political events in the state which have caused the forging of unholy alliances capable of dragging Akwa Ibom State into the abyss, I hereby announce my decision to withdrawfrom active partisan politics till further notice. Before this decision, I was a member of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).”
“I kept membership of the party because I thought that the APC in Akwa Ibom State was honestly and genuinely on the side of the people, owing to her vociferous condemnations of the plundering of the state by the immediate past administration. I am shocked at the turn of events, as I have cometo realise that those condemnations were self-seeking sanctification.”
“Consequently, I can not in good conscience remain in their midst. Let me state that while mulling over my decision to resign from the APC, the thought of belonging to the PDP or any other party did not cross my mind for a second, because those at thehelm of affairs of the parties have not demonstrated the courage to confront issues on development which should be top priority.”
“In light of the foregoing, I will not as an individual support any party or use the platform of the Guide Newspaper or other affiliate channels in the company which I am privileged to serve as Chief Executive Officer to give preferential support to any political party. All our dealings with political parties and their members will be done on a strictly professional business way as always be.”
“As someone who believes in the struggle for the emancipation of Akwa Ibom people, I will in the days ahead come public with documents, factual evidence and position statements that will reveal the true character of some people who are bent on leading our state to the dungeon. Akwa Ibom people have suffered enough.”
“We cannot continue like this, lest our children spit on our graves for doing nothing while evil overtook our land Let me appreciate everyone whose supports have brought us this far. Thank you for continuing totrust in us.Only the TRUTH shall set Akwa Ibom state free…God bless you,” the statement concluded.
