UDOM’S PARALLEL EXCO: EKONG SAMPSON REFUTES MEDIA CLAIM

EKONG SAMPSON
The Commissioner for Rural Development, Barrister Ekong Sampson has debunked an online news report that the state executive Council is divided, stating that the publication is false, baseless and unfounded.

The Commissioner, in a text to our reporter, said “my attention has just been drawn to an online ‘news’ item wherein I was mentioned. Please, ignore it as it is a total fabrication from hell by mischief merchants and serpentine anarchists.”

The former Assemblyman who later spoke with our reporter on phone Friday morning said the report is “pure fiction”. The Mkpat Enin born legal man said that Governor Udom Emmanuel’s cabinet is one and united family which is working assiduously to ensuring that the governor delivers on his good agenda for the state.

Ekong told our reporter that there is nothing like Akpabio and Udom’s men, but only a united State Executive Council made up of great Akwa Ibom men and women.

He said that the report quoting him as saying that Akparawa Ephraim Inyang and Mr. Akan Okon are fighting other members of the exco is not only preposterous but laughable and should not be taken seriously by members of the public.

Ekong said that he has a cordial relationship with Akparawa Inyang, Okon and other members of the state executive Council.

He stated further that at no point was there any meeting of such, saying the quotes attributed to him were maliciously fabricated to create a rift between him and his colleagues.

He also discarded as rumours, the insinuation that he will resign his position as Commissioner, stating that such is only a figment of the writer’s imagination.

The former Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin reiterated that the governor has good intentions for the people of Akwa Ibom, which is why the state’s chief executive is working on diversifying the flanks of the economy.

He urged the people of Akwa Ibom State to join hands with the Governor to move the state forward.
