A Non-Governmental Organization, AKWA IBOM DIGNITY AND INTEGRITY DEFENDERS FOUNDATION (AKIDIDEF) on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at their head office, 9, lawal street, Egbeda Lagos, extolled former First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Ekaete Unoma Akpabio, as she celebrates her birthday at 45.
This was contained in a communiqué jointly endorsed by the National President, Mr. Moses Udoudoumoren, and the Director Media and Publicity, Mr. Kufre Umoefon, at the end of a seminar organized by the organization at its National Secretariat to sensitize Akwa Ibom people resident in the western zone of the country, tagged: INTERGITY; OUR IDENTITYAND HERITAGE.
This, according to the President of the organization, was part of the organization’s move to actualize its vision of protecting the integrity, identity and heritage Akpabio-led Administration left behind; to make integrity an identity of an average Akwaibomite.
“We felicitate with this beautiful and dutiful amazon of charity, Her Excellency Chief Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio for being the whack behind the wind of uncommon transformation that blew across Akwa Ibom State since 2007 – the infrastructural renaissance; institutional rejuvenation, spiritual rebirth; psychological enhancement, gender sensitivity to mention but a few.She is, indubitably, the “watermark” reason God’s will is done by Godswill Akpabio in the state; a state that was once vilified and denigrated. She is an uncommon woman with uncommon zeal and passion for mankind, especially the less privileged. In rendering these selfless services to these society-neglected but Unoma-embracing ones in the society, she feels fulfilled as could be seen on her ever-smiling face. No wonder the Chinese proverb says: “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap;Ifyou want happiness for a day, go fishing; If you want happiness for a month, get married; If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune; If you want happiness for a lifetime, help someone else.”
As a woman of goodwill, and a pride to womanhood, who has a twin vision with Mrs Akpabio, she has touched and changed many lives for the better especially that of the widows, physically challenged, children, and the aged through her pet project: FAMILY LIFE ENHANCEMENT INITIATIVE (FLEI).
With her touch of generosity, many widows have been made to forget the excruciating agony attached to widowhood as she usually meets them at their points of needs ranging from clothing, finances, shelter, etc. all these wrapped in uncommon humility shielded in the fear of God.
In the same vein, she has been an unstoppable vehicle of empowerment to women financially, morally and intellectually thereby releasing them from the prisons of being baby manufacturers and chefs into a world of reality where they can now compete with other women globally. Her generosity is beyond ethnic, tribal and predisposition boundaries. The innumerable award she’s got nationally and internationally is a proof of her kind kindness to mankind.
Her strength of mobilization which earned her the title Campaigner-in-chief is drawn from the lives her golden hands of generosity have touched. She remains a blessing to Akwa Ibom state because she came into the life of Godswill, he became governor and brought light into the then dark tunnel of Akwa Ibom, and now, a Senator and Minority Leader; she spotted and endorsed Emmanuel Udom for governor; she stood by him in the storm and today Mr. Emmanuel Udom is our Governor, doing the expected exploits through his DAKAADA ideology. She is not only a ‘kingmaker’ but also the supplement and complement of uncommon transformation in Akwa Ibom state”.
It is on the premise of taking stock of her innumerable achievements with multiplier effects and as a way of celebrating her infectious legacies that we decided to write an uncommon book about this uncommon woman of honor: The Supplement and Complement of Uncommon Transformation in Akwa Ibom State – a book that was meant to be published on her 45th birthday but would get to her anytime soon. Once again, we wish her Excellency a Happy birthday celebrations!”
